Unity House Transitional Housing (Recovery) Program

Unity house is a 15 unit (SRO), single room occupancy, transitional housing program that is designed around the veterans recovery program. Veterans can reside at Unity house for up to two years while learning how to reintergrate into a local community while becoming active and productive. Once residents leave Unity house, many residents have gone on to school here at Mount Wachusett Community College. Many have found gainful employment in the Gardner community, a community that is very receptive to our veteran's and our programs. Veterans have found a home in Gardner.

Besides finding gainful employment, residents have the opportunity to participate in other activities. The MVOC has an honor guard and we provide uniforms for those veterans that participate. Residents volunteer in the community as well as at the Center, i.e., VVA motorcycle run, honor guard for funerals, MIA/POW day in Boston and much more. To help residents, and local veterans, with their medical treatment, the MVOC provides transportation to and from medical appointments. Also, the MVOC assists veterans with the basic essentials through our veterans food pantry program. Unity house veterans are also involved in veterans groups within the community. They are trying to give back to the community wherever and whenever they can.

We have such honored guest as our Mayor, local politicians, business leaders, Congressmen and Senators. We always take the time to recognize the Gardner community because our holidays wouldn't be as special and eventful. Some of the groups that help make our holidays special are as follows:
