Stephanie Marchetti named Executive Director of Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center in Gardner

Stephanie Marchetti- Executive DirectorGARDNER, MA – The Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center (MVOC) has named Stephanie Marchetti as their new executive director. Marchetti joins the organization following a decade of public service in the education sector, most recently at Mount Wachusett Community College. She had also served on the Board of Directors of MVOC for nearly eighteen months prior to her appointment as Executive Director and is well-poised to support the work of this strong organization and its’ 40-year legacy within central Massachusetts.

“I am excited to not just continue leading Cathy McWilliams’ vision of veterans support throughout our region,” expressed Marchetti, “but to elevate and grow it. This is a population of folks that deserve a high level of respect and dignity in care and that is what they’ve been able to find at MVOC for many years.”

MVOC offers veterans throughout central Massachusetts housing, mental health counseling, employment skills building, personal development, and benefits resource guidance. The organization further assists with transportation and food security.

Marchetti will take over the position from Charles Murphy, who is returning to his previous job leading a nonprofit health center in Boston.

“I leave MVOC in good hands,” he said. “The organization has been looking ahead towards an expansion of services and opportunities for our veterans, and Steph’s service on the board of directors sets her up to step in and continue moving things forward.”

“I have the utmost confidence in Stephanie’s ability to be Executive Director of the MVOC. Her education, experience, and time at MWCC, which includes working with veterans seeking to pursue further education, will serve the organization well,” said Brad Heglin, Board Member. “I look forward to her leadership and am thrilled to have her serve in this role.”

Marchetti has been serving the North Central Massachusetts Community for many years as an advocate for access and equity in education. She volunteers service as the Secretary of the Alumni Board of Trustees at Fitchburg State University, from which she hails two degrees in Communications. She is currently completing a doctoral program in Leadership from Maryville University of St. Louis. She lives in Ashburnham with her husband and their four rescue pets.
